Photoshoot for the Fairytale Contest

As I mentioned earlier, I participate in a contest over at DeviantArt organized by TheSimsWorld, "Fairytales and Folklore", and picked "Alice in Wonderland" as my theme. Alice had already received a heavy make-over, because she was just too troubled. So, I sent the poor woman into rehab, got her some beautiful clothes from Zauma, and invited her to Wonderland, a community lot owned by Matt Hatter.


I took about 300 shots, but then decided to build another set for my final image:

But still I liked a lot of the shots, and want to show them here. The Wonderland Community Lot is an ongoing project, I keep adding and building as I find stuff.

Matt, Alice and the Cheshire cat had to stay a whole day and a night, sometimes freezing heavily.

Lewis Riddell - Dorian Cyrus

 Lewis grew up as the very troubled son of Alice McGee Riddell. If you´ve ever played American McGee´s Alice, you will know why he was troubled :-)

Initially, I wanted to add Matt Hatter to the family, but never got around to it, so Alice became a single mom. I used a premade house which was just perfect, Hovel Haven Factory by oph3lia. It was cluttered from top to bottom, with alcohol bottles lying around, so the troubled, alcohol-addicted Mom was born.

Lewis rather indiscreminately sought the attention of older men, here he is with Ode by mouseyblue. Despite his poor social background and lack of support, he managed to make it to college, where he met Dorian Cyrus.

Dorian was the love child of Sheena Cyrus and Edward Black.


 

Sadly, Dorian was so incredibly ugly as a kid, I did not take any pictures, and he had to undergo plastic surgery later.

So, Dorian had everything Lewis never had, loving, gentle parents, a safe environment to grow up, lots of encouragement and a good education. Nevertheless, when the two met, it was love at first sight.

By that time, I learned how to redecorate dorms (boolprop dormspecifictoolsdisabled false), and their dorm received a huge makeover, turning it into a Victorian/Steampunk era university. Here are their two respective rooms:

Dorian is a real hunk :-)

All was well, until Lewis felt Dorian didn´t love him enough. If you have had such a difficult upbringing like he did, eventually the old pain resurfaces. He decided to become a Romance Sim and had various love affairs, but could not really leave Dorian, who stayed surprisingly calm in all this turmoil. Lewis was very upset when Wynona moved in, feeling very jealous and afraid to lose Dorian.

The issue was not really resolved when both finished college, and despite that they decided to stay in a place together, the House of Five Gables by katalina. It received a makeover, but is not yet finished because the two don´t have that much money yet.

Both were not really sure if they wanted to stay together. Dorian was getting a bit tired by Lewis´ indecisiveness and his capricious attitude. Nevertheless, both rolled wants to hug each other, kiss each other, make-out with each other ...

One thing led to another on one beautiful winter day. Both had come home from work, it was snowing outside, they cuddled on the sofa, when suddenly I heard this lullaby tune and thought: Oops! Someone just got pregnant unexpectedly.

It turned out it was Dorian! This was the second unplanned pregnancy in the game (first was Carlotta). If I remember it correctly, I had the Autonomous Casual Romance Adjuster not yet spawned on both occasions. Lewis did not hesitate a second and proposed to Dorian, and they threw another of their famous parties on the same day to celebrate the wedding.

Aeon Adams, son of Akira and Tony Adams, now grown-up and in college, was one of their guests. I thought he looked stunning, just like his grandfather Raeburn Shadowbane.

Here is an older pic of the Shadowbane clan, Rae in the back, Akira and her mother Sheena Cyrus in the middle, Elaine Cyrus, Akira´s daughter in the front. In between you can see Aeon, he is Elaine´s brother.

Did I mention I think Aeon looks stunning? :-) The Shadowbanes/Cyruses make very beautiful kids. No plastic surgery ever needed :-)

Other party guests, Luna Hatter, Wynona Carrion, Dorian´s father Edward. Totally love the girl´s dresses! Wynona looks a bit as if she just bit into a lemon.

And when he was all alone one afternoon, the baby came. Poor Dorian, but he managed well, and at least he did not have to deal with his partner giving him the "Bleh!" afterwards, like Count Maxim with Cissy. It is a girl, and I named her Stella.

The house is not very big, so it was a bit of a hassle to find a place for the nursery. Lewis insisted on more Steampunk style.

Meet Matt, the Mad Hatter

So, this is Matt Hatter, slowdancing with Alice in Wonderland. I love how he keeps looking at me, like saying: "Ok, now what? You put me in this silly costume, put that strange woman in front of me, what do you want me to do now?" :-)

I have a long-time obsession with "Alice in Wonderland", the story, the graphics - I just love it. And I had this Alice Sim sitting in my bin for quite a while, actually two Sims, one "regular" Alice (the one above) and one Alice from American McGee´s Alice game. When I played the "Asylum Challenge", the regular Alice was my main character, and I kept her in my game. Of course Alice needs a Mad Hatter, too, and this is my version of it.

At first, I intended to have the McGee-Alice and Matt be together as a family. I even created their son, Lewis, but for some reason, I never put Matt into the household, so poor troubled Alice was forced to raise her spoiled son alone. (I right now can´t find the link to person who created this Sim, sorry. She did a great job!) The Alice Sim is by HattheCat.

After a bit of a rough start, he has developed quite well.

But I am digressing :-) (Sheesh, I am shy to say something about Lewis. In fact, he is another incarnation of beauty in my game. This picture is one of my all time favorites from the game EVER! It is an impromptu shot that I was lucky to catch. I love the hair - Nouk texture, I think. I love the skin -most likely Ephemera. It has such a beautiful, pearl like shimmer - just fabulous. The lips, the expression - I love freakin´ love this picture - just so you know! :-))

Ok, back to Matt.

I really tried to find him a female mate. He was a Romance Sim to begin with, but I so quickly get bored of these, so eventually I turned him into a Knowledge Sim.

He met Elizabeth Cuthbert:

I thought he and Cissy Trussard looked cute together:

And indeed they got along quite well with each other. Even though she looks like she wants to steal the sandwich from his hand.

 

 

He even stuck a big heart on his hat to demonstrate his affection for Cissy:

   

Ok, just being very silly here. The mesh for the hat is a bit too big, so the rotating heart that appears when characters fall in love looked like it was tagged to the hat :-)

But when it comes to "being bored easily", Cissy is even worse than Rae.  She and Matt spent a lovely weekend at his house, then she left and forgot about him.

So, Matt spent some time at his Wonderland Amusement Park, drinking tea, pondering the future, getting high on his bubble machine ...

Then he invited Rae over, who had welcomed him first. Or maybe Rae dropped by, I don´t remember.  I suddenly realized the two share three bolts with each other. And from then on it was like preaching to the choir.




So, sometimes the game really surprises me with its choices, but these two get along so well with each other! Matt moved in with Rae, and I thought this household with two Knowledge Sims would be perfect to try out the new alien abduction mod I just had downloaded - abduction guaranteed!

Then, as all good Knowledge Sims should do, he looked through the telescope and whammo! got abducted promptly. I am mean, I know :-)

Uh, yeah.

Matt doing the pregnant walk - too funny :-) Probably not for him.

I did a pregnancy scan, and he even expected twins, to my great delight! And a while later the game crashed :( Not sure why, it did not want to open a lot when I sent him there, and all was lost. So poor Matt had to do the whole process again, and this time it was only a single pregnancy. Kind of sad ... I never had twins in my game so far. It would have been a double-premiere.

And then Luna was born, my first half-alien baby. Well, not completely alien, I am using Almighty Hat´s "Stolen by Fairies" multi-pollination technician mod and skins, and she looks really cute, at least as a baby.

Yeah, go ahead Rae, ignore the birth completely and work more on your guitar playing skills :-)

At least Matt stuck some pacifier on his hat to celebrate the occasion.

Having Servos as nannies is such a relief.

And since the "failed twin pregnancy due to a crash" had planted an idea in my head, poor Matt had to go through the whole process again, because now I wanted TWO alien babies in my game :-) I forgot to take shots of the telescope watching again, though.

On a whim, Raeburn decides that having babies is a wonderful thing (he has raised "only" four so far, more than any other Sim in the game), especially if it is not him who has to carry them, and Matt gets pregnant again, this time from Rae with the help of the "pregnancy for all genders" mod.
